I think female artists who make bizarre, often ‘incomprehensible’ work (within da archetypes assigned to women) are ridiculed and/or met with confusion and anger when they refuse to give palatable explanations bc the ladies are generally supposed to fall into some overarching category kind of Woman Art™ + have the aligning persona.. Being a character rather than a person makes them easier to digest, meanwhile a male equivalent is some kind of genius…. And when ppl get frustrated at being unable to turn a lady into novelty they they get dismissed into the ™CrazyLady™ miscellaneous bin LOL

I felt my heart crack slowly like a pomegranate, spilling its seeds.

There are some girls,
Who are wild and raging as wolves,
Always hungry for more,
Girls who have storms in their heads,
And winds howling in their heart and soul,
They are angry at what has been denied them,
By an accident of their birth,
These are the girls who will prove that wrong,
These are the girls who bite back.
